The Best of British BBQ Team has just returned from competing in two KCBS Certified International competitions in the USA.

At the “I Love BBQ Festival” in Lake Placid, New York twice Olympic Luge champion Mark Grimmette heard the boys were competing and offered them the use of his wood-fired smoker BBQ.

In their second contest they were supported by the Kettering Veteran American Legion. Team member Mathew Shropshall was honoured to represent the United Kingdom in Ohio’s National Cook-off.
Awards included 1st place International Team, 3rd place pork ribs, 4th place Peoples Choice awarded by 175 public votes, 4th place for chicken and 6th place overall.

Viv Harvey says, “The team has strengthened its International reputation and have enjoyed the time learning from other BBQ teams.”

The team have also been invited to compete in Houston, Miami, Nevada and Connecticut.
Over the last five years the team’s range of rubs, sauces, injections and marinades has proven to be winners.
